About our Founder

Dr. LaFarra Young, a triple board-certified physician with almost twenty years experience, founded LaFarra & Co to provide women on the go with luxurious wellness & beauty products so they can look, feel, and do their best at any age.

After losing her natural lashes to glue and lash extensions, Dr. LaFarra sought safe alternatives for busy women who wanted natural-appearing lashes. Dr. LaFarra, an autoimmune thriver since she was a teen, was mindful to select healthy ingredients in cosmetics just as she had done in educating those in the community about healthy food choices for years. Her desire to help women look, feel, and do better resulted in a line of luxurious products that were free from ingredients such as parabens, phthalates, gluten, sulfates, and mineral oils linked to sensitivity reactions and health problems.

She graduated from Boston University School of Medicine in the top of her class and decided to return to Mississippi to serve as the first female African American Pediatric Pathologist in the State and decided to decrease health disparities in her community after becoming a health coach and sharing her expertise about how to naturally create better health. She is a best-selling author of three books-- with her first solo book Chews to be Healthy serving as a guide for creating healthier habits as a busy mom.

Dr. LaFarra is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, former President of the Young Physicians Section of the Mississippi State Medical Association, American Society for Clinical Pathologists, and various organizations. She is the mother to twin teenage sons and a toddler daughter.
